Dr John Blakey
Respiratory Consultant, Royal Liverpool Hospital and Clinical Group Chair of the North West Severe Asthma Service.

Dr John Blakey is a consultant respiratory physician at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, and Clinical Group Chair of the North West Severe Asthma Service which provides specialist care for a population of 7 million.
John undertook his PhD in population genetics, before moving into more clinical research through his NIHR Clinical Lecturer post, then appointment as a Senior Lecturer at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
His interest is in improving the assessment and management of people with asthma by incorporating newer data streams and measurement of future risk into models of care. John’s current research projects are funded by the Medical Research Council, Wellcome Trust and industry.
