Essential skills for Physiotherapists

A course for Physiotherapists – presented by the SCGH Intensive Care Physiotherapy Team

Friday 15th & Saturday 16th September 2017
(Friday 3:00pm – 6:00pm, Saturday 8:30am – 4:30pm)

Cost: $350 inc. GST

Registration opens Friday 28th July

We aim to provide junior clinicians with the essential skills to navigate the world of Intensive Care Physiotherapy with safe clinical reasoning when treating a stable intubated patient.

Considerable content from this course will also be of value to physiotherapists working in high dependency areas. No previous ICU experience is required. Workshops will feature heavily throughout the program.

Course topics include:

  • Basic ventilation
  • NIV & treatment adjuncts
  • Airway management including tracheostomies
  • Principles of VHI/MHI
  • CXR and blood analysis
  • Challenging bariatric mobility in critical care
