Thank you for your generosity!

The MC Committee is thrilled to announce that $58,800 was raised for cystic fibrosis research

The MC Committee believe that supporting medical research here in Western Australia is a positive way of fighting this cruel condition.

100% of the funds raised go into the Glenn Brown Memorial Grant, allowing researchers to further their investigations on researching cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis.

While the emphasis of the day is fun, laughter, and entertainment, we took the time to consider the purpose behind the event.

Guest speaker Jo Giles spoke about her battle with CF, and how she was able to gain enough courage and strength to keep fighting although doctors had prepared her for the end. Her courage and fighting spirit left many in the crowd teary eyed and in awe of her inner strength.

This year a video highlighted the history behind the fundraising event and how the Glenn Brown Memorial Grant enables scientists to develop their research. Prof Yuben Moodley, the recipient for 2011, spoke about stem cell therapy and the effect this has on CF.

Over the past five years, the Melbourne Cup Luncheon has raised over $330,000.

The Committee would like to thank everyone who donated and/or attended the event.
