We are committed to providing student opportunities and supporting the careers of young scientists in respiratory health.
Our goal is to support high-quality research into better understanding the clinical and scientific basis of respiratory disease.
At the Institute for Respiratory Health, we aim to improve the treatment and management of patients with respiratory conditions. These conditions include idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), mesothelioma, cystic fibrosis (CF), pleural diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer. This is done through studying:
- Disease processes at the clinical molecular and cell biology level.
- Existing and potential treatment modalities.
- The impact of disease on the individual and the community at large
If you are interested in a project or volunteering for laboratory experience, please contact the relevant Unit Head for more information.
