Sue Morey named finalist in WA Health Excellence Awards
The Institute for Respiratory Health is proud to celebrate our Deputy Chair of the Board, Sue Morey, who has been named a finalist in the prestigious 2025 WA Health Excellence Awards.
Sue has been shortlisted in the 7NEWS Health Heroes category, which recognises outstanding frontline health workers nominated by the public. This nomination shines a spotlight on Sue’s remarkable contributions as a Nurse Practitioner at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, where she has dedicated over 50 years to caring for people with chronic lung conditions.
Throughout her career, Sue has played a vital role in advancing respiratory health through both clinical practice and research. Her work has helped shape better outcomes for thousands of Western Australians living with lung disease.
Emeritus Professor Geoff Stewart, Chair of the Institute for Respiratory Health, said: “Sue has been a true trailblazer in respiratory care. Her passion, energy and empathy for patients are unmatched. She’s not only a brilliant nurse practitioner but also an outstanding leader and mentor in the field. This recognition is so well deserved.”
The WA Health Excellence Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across the WA public health system. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Tuesday 25 November at Crown Perth.
The Institute congratulates Sue and all the finalists for their inspiring contributions to health care in Western Australia.
