June LIFE Group Meeting
Mental health matters: Adjusting to living with a lung disease
Presentation by Maggie Harrigan
- Maggie has been a social worker for over twelve years, many of which were spent working at SCGH Respiratory Ward.
- She feels very passionate that those living with lung conditions have the information and support required regarding their mental and social health alongside medical care.
- She is now working as a cystic fibrosis mental health researcher, which she loves. She does however miss her interactions with people living with other lung conditions, so is delighted to come and talk to the group.
- She would like to share her experiences of the emotions that can accompany being diagnosed and living with lung disease, share some tips on staying mentally well and socially connected, and of course hear from you all.
About the LIFE Group
Lung Information and Friendship for Everyone (LIFE) is a lung health support group that has been connecting people living with chronic lung conditions across Perth for over 30 years.
Run by, and for people, with chronic lung disease, their families, carers and supporters, members share their experiences and learn better ways to cope with lung conditions. It’s the perfect place to connect with other people living with lung disease, who know exactly what you’re going through.
