Liza is a research assistant at the Institute for Respiratory Health within the Host and Pathogen Biology in CF group. Liza is currently involved in conducting cell culture infections with Scedosporium and Lomentospora, and processing clinical blood samples for a new study into ageing with cystic fibrosis.

Liza is a former recipient of the UWA Geoff Shellam Memorial Prize for an outstanding Masters of Infectious Diseases thesis, and her research interests continue to focus on host-pathogen interactions during fungal infection. Liza is responsible for the day-to-day running of the laboratory and has experience in a range of laboratory techniques, including microbiology, molecular biology, flow cytometry, clinical sample processing, and cell culture.
