Craig Mcgown, B Com
Chair / Treasurer

Craig McGown is an investment banker with over 35 years of experience consulting to companies in Australia and internationally. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree awarded at the University of Western Australia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mr McGown is an executive director of the corporate advisory business New Holland Capital Pty Ltd and prior to that appointment was the chairman of DJ Carmichael Pty Limited.

Tracy Armson, BA(Hons), MBA

Tracy Armson is a senior Communications and Marketing Specialist with extensive international experience in communications, marketing, market research and project management. She is a big-picture strategic thinker and has a high profile in Perth, having worked with the RAC, Horizon Power, GESB and Curtin University. Ms Armson has also held a number of board positions including Amana Living and Therapy Focus.

Sue Morey, OAM FRCNA

Sue Morey is a leading figure in her profession as a nurse practitioner in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.  Ms Morey has spent over 40 years as a respiratory nurse and has watched the developments of respiratory medicine for pulmonary TB, asbestos-related diseases, asthma, cystic fibrosis and lung transplantation and interventional endobronchial procedures. Sue was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2004 for her services to respiratory medicine nursing.

Anthony Fortina, BA, LLB

Anthony Fortina is the Deputy Director, Office of Research Enterprise at UWA and manages the Research Development and Innovation portfolio. He is The University of Western Australia representative on the Board. Mr Fortina has worked in the Higher Education sector since 2003, in technology transfer, research and business development and in legal roles. Prior to that Mr Fortina worked for multinational companies in various managerial and senior in-house legal roles in the mining, industrial gases, industrial products and healthcare sectors.

Prof Gary Lee, MBChB, PhD, FRACP, FRCP, FCCP

Gary Lee is a chest physician and professor with over 15 years’ experience in researching pleural diseases, especially pleural malignancies and infection. His work has been translated into clinical practice on many occasions. This has directly contributed to reducing healthcare costs as well as improving patient care. Professor Lee’s research program consists of; state-of-the-art imaging facilities, clinical trials and biobank networks.

Shona Tchilingirian, BA (Hons), MA

Shona Tchilingirian is an experienced Finance and Operations Director and Company Secretary in the Not for Profit Sector. She has a degree and MA from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia. Shona also holds senior qualifications in Audit and Charity Accounting, and has senior leadership experience in the fields of health, prison reform, arts and culture, and environmental sustainability. With a history of lung disease in the family Shona is passionate about the field of respiratory health and the work of the Institute.

E/Prof Geoff Stewart, BSc, PhD

Emeritus Professor Geoff Stewart completed his BSc and PhD at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He was a Research Fellow at the Western Australian Institute for Child Health at Princess Margaret Hospital. Geoff became an NHMRC Research Fellow before becoming a Senior Lecturer at UWA. He was formally the Head of Microbiology and subsequently the Head of the School of Biomolecular, Biomedical and Chemical Sciences at UWA. Geoff’s research focus is on respiratory health, particularly the role of allergy and allergens in the development of asthma.
