Melbourne Cup Day Lunch
Tuesday 5th November 2019
Get ready to frock up, dig out the fascinator and book that annual leave and join us at the Melbourne Cup Day event of the year. This is Perth’s most enjoyable Melbourne Cup lunch event for 2019. You will get to have a great time, enjoy a long lazy lunch with an incredible menu at a reasonable price but you will also be making a difference by helping to fund research to find cures and treatments for cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis and change people’s lives for the better.
Held every year in memory of Glenn Brown, a Kalgoorlie schoolboy, who at just 15 years of age, lost his fight against cystic fibrosis (CF), this entertaining fundraiser event has helped to raise over $410,000 for life-saving research.

Why this event is so unique
This Melbourne Cup Luncheon was started in 2003, in honour of Glenn Brown, who had just passed away from cystic fibrosis.
During his time in the hospital, Glenn met Janeine and Alison, who were both mothers of children with cystic fibrosis. Glenn had told them that he wasn’t ready to die and was scared of being forgotten.
When Glenn passed away, Janeine and Alison wanted to keep his memory alive. Within eight weeks they had put together the first Melbourne Cup Luncheon with nearly 80 people in attendance.
16 years later, the luncheon has raised over $410,000 with everything (except the discounted food) either kindly sponsored, gifted or borrowed.
How you can make a difference
The funds raised at the luncheon will be used to support research into the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cystic fibrosis.
By attending this event, you’ll enjoy a day of fun, fashion and food while helping people with cystic fibrosis like Glenn.
